Integral Cradles, a leading access equipment installation specialist, has commenced installation work as part of the major redevelopment of London’s Olympia Exhibition Centre.
The project, located at Olympia’s Emberton House and G Gate, involves the installation of a manual gantry, monorail tracks with a powered cradle and a Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) on a short twin track.
Integral Cradles Managing Director, Kevin Walton, commented on the project:
“We’re pleased to have begun installation at the redeveloped London Olympia. Our team has successfully completed the first stage, managing the complex requirements of the low headroom and sloped atrium glazed roof during the manual gantry installation. We’re now focused on delivering the remaining equipment, ensuring the work is completed safely and to the satisfaction of our client, Laing O’Rourke.”
As Integral’s maintenance partner and sister company, GIND UK looks forward to supporting the next phase of this significant project by assisting with testing and commissioning once the installation is complete.
The redevelopment of London Olympia, known as Future Olympia, is being delivered by Laing O’Rourke and will transform the iconic exhibition, entertainment and cultural venue into a mixed-use destination. This includes the refurbishment of listed exhibition halls – Grand Hall and National Hall – along with the addition of new offices, a four-screen cinema, a 4,000-seat music venue, a 1,500-seat theatre, hotels, retail outlets and public spaces.
