GIND UK, the UK’s leading specialist in façade access maintenance, has been appointed to provide ongoing maintenance services for a sophisticated traversing building maintenance unit (BMU) at 105 Victoria Street, following its installation by sister company Integral Cradles on behalf of Skanska.
The BMU system at 105 Victoria Street presented unique design and installation challenges due to highly constrained roof space and a restricted travel corridor. GIND UK will now apply its specialist expertise to maintain this complex system, ensuring it continues to operate safely and efficiently despite the spatial constraints.
The installation benefited from Integral Cradles’ advanced BIM (Building Information Modelling), which identified and resolved spatial constraints during the design phase.
The system comprises a traversing BMU with an 11-metre reach, designed to provide comprehensive façade access despite the spatial constraints. The unit features an auxiliary winch, providing additional lifting capability for maintenance tasks. GIND UK will maintain all components of this bespoke system, ensuring it continues to deliver flexible access to all areas of the building’s façade.

Discussing the maintenance contract, Kevin Walton, Managing Director of GIND UK and Integral Cradles, said:
“GIND UK is delighted to be maintaining this sophisticated BMU system at 105 Victoria Street. Understanding the spatial challenges that were overcome during installation allows our teams to approach maintenance with the same precision and attention to detail that characterised the project from the outset.”
The appointment at 105 Victoria Street demonstrates the value of the integrated approach between Integral Cradles and GIND UK. By providing both installation and maintenance services, the two sister companies deliver a seamless whole-lifecycle solution that ensures façade access systems not only meet the highest standards during installation but continue to operate safely and efficiently for years to come.
GIND UK’s maintenance contract with Skanska at 105 Victoria Street strengthens the longstanding partnership between the companies, demonstrating the confidence tier one clients place in GIND UK’s specialist maintenance capabilities.

Kevin added:
“This appointment reinforces GIND UK’s position as the UK’s leading specialist in façade access maintenance. Our ability to maintain complex, bespoke systems in challenging environments demonstrates why clients trust us to protect their systems and ensure the safety and efficiency of their building maintenance operations. We look forward to delivering our exceptional standards of service throughout the lifecycle of this installation.”
