GIND UK and installation partner Integral Cradles have been selected to deliver a specialist access solution at New Zealand House in London.
After receiving an early works order early in 2024 to allow design to commence, Integral Cradles has since been awarded the full package of works to complete the installation of significant, large-scale complex access equipment at the 18-storey building at 80 Haymarket, which was originally completed in 1963, before being given a grade II listing in 1995.
New Zealand House comprises four podium levels and a 14-storey main tower and has been the New Zealand High Commission’s main base in the UK since opening. It was London’s first air-conditioned building and the first to have continuous glazing on all elevations.
The Integral Cradles team will be working with the main contractor Multiplex, on behalf of the Crown Estate.
Discussing the contract award, GIND UK and Integral Cradles managing director Kevin Walton said: “We’re thrilled to have been awarded the installation contract at this prestigious building. Working with our valued client Multiplex, we’re currently in the design stage of the project and developing a bespoke solution that will support the new tower’s modern design.
Kevin added: “This is a historically significant building owned by the Crown Estate and housing the New Zealand High Commission. It’s a prestigious contract for Integral Cradles and another fantastic addition to our impressive project portfolio, well done to the team for helping us to secure the order.”
